Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18th, 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor from Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix had an early flair for sports when she was attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting potential at the at the time. She finished second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, in just 10 weeks following the first time she tried out. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003 signed an agreement with Adidas. Then she attended college at the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. A year later Felix won her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking a junior world record by doing 200 meters with a time of 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world in the 200-meter race. She was able to defend the title at the 2007 World Championships, beating her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at her first Olympics and in the Olympics of Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her races.
