Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18 of 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained from Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was able to show an early interest for athletics when she was taking classes at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic talents at the moment. In just 10 weeks following her first attempt, she finished third in the 200m race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix finished high school signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. The first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics at Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record running 200m in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world athlete to win the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently within the top three across her diverse events in the Olympics that took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
